8/6/19 famous clock, lots of walking and our tour started.

We saw the famous clock do its routine at 12 midday.  Very controlled but quite nice to see

The figures came through the clock face in rotation.  All were historical figures for
Vienna.
We visited the famous St Stephens Cathedral (mostly closed due to organ restoration) and ate wild boar hot dogs in the square there, then took off through uncharted territory to go to a park.

We enjoyed icecream in the park with Strauss

before finding a cache at a fountain carved from one block of Lapis Lazuli.

Then we found another park and enjoyed that for a while before investigating loud music from the Inclusive festival currently on here.

art installation - stuffed pigeons

see the similarity??

Lots of walking to get home to the hotel where we finally checked in (we left our bags here earlier in the day), and a quick cuppa before we met our tour group.  All Aussies and 2 NZ and all seem great on first appearances.

celebrating diversity in a big way here at the moment.
we think St John might be maltesers here???? (maltese cross)

Dinner together at the fun park nearby and acted as support crew while a couple of the girls went on a ride after most of us did the ferris wheel.  All great fun and should be a great couple of weeks together.
