18/6/19 - Freedom, train tickets and a boat cruise

The most important thing that happened today was that Trevor was released from the hospital.

The whole stay in hospital from 14/6 to today cost 6952K (equivalent to $442AUD)!!!

The ambulance alone will cost almost that much again.  (although we haven't yet figured out how to pay that one)

It was a bit sad to say goodbye to Miroslav, who has been such a good room buddy for Trevor, interpreting language for him and being quiet company.  His family also adopted Trevor, especially his younger son who added to his muffin purchase each day in order to share with Trevor as well.

It was very good to make it to the outside of the ward and the outside of the hospital

Trev was more than ready for a walk, so we slowly headed home to our apartment and a cup of tea. (not the fruit stuff from the urn)

We decided (since the Dr didn't say not to) that we will head for Budapest  and rejoin the tour group , taking it as easy as we can/need to for the rest of the trip.

To this end I ventured out once more on a strange quest - to find the central railway station and book us some first class  tickets on the 7.50am train on Thursday to Budapest.  This train should arrive to a station very close to our hotel in Budapest, so will make it easy to walk from there.

On the way to the station I stopped past the municipal Library and admired their book cylinder - from floor to ceiling made of books, with a small opening at the front so that you can look inside of it.  Very impressive.

school kids were enjoying it

I also liked the windows in the library with a book theme

While I was out I also bought a bike lock so that we can lock our cases in the train, and avoid them being stolen if we are sleeping and can't see them.

Kids on a school excursion in the train station - they seem to put fluro vests on them here on excursions.  I guess it makes it easy to find them.
After a bit of a rest we headed out to take our boat cruise which we had missed out on taking a few days ago.  (the day that Trevor went to hospital) and enjoyed a trip for about an hour along a short bit of the river, under the famous Charles Bridge.

someone hung the Orienteering plate wrong on the bridge.

a long row of yellow penguins - a statement about climate change.

Trev's favourite building. (the hospital)  Maybe he was being watched by his buddy

The lamp posts have the same city symbol on them as the street grates.

Dinner out on our way home and that was about enough for us for today.
