Vienna ....
The day started watching the Lippizaners go through morning exercises to music.
people watching training form the balconies.
We saw the horses practicing this move. Officially no photos allowed - they told us this just after the practice started, so I got a few in before that.
Then we hopped back on the hop on hop off bus to do the other (yellow) loop . This took us out to the Schonbrunn palace, and also to the old museum of military history

Just happened to see some horses making music in Heroes square.

Geraniums are the preferred flower in the many window boxes. |
You can imagine our juvenile humour at this sign - so many possibilities.... |
We were back just in time to hop off and walk to our next commitment - a "free" walking tour.
Anita, our guide, was terrific and as usual on these tours we learnt so much more than we would have otherwise.

Gruesome statue |
moving clock - we hope to get back here for midday tomorrow. |
The stables for the lippizaners are inside a beautiful building! |

Then we walked home along the canal and enjoyed watching the graffiti artists at work.
we walked to find some genuine local cuisine and ate schnitzel (Trev) and Viennese chicken salad (Erica) , washed down with their unique white wine Gruner Veltliner.
We walked home a different way, right past the place where the Vienna Boys Choir live and train.
