4/6/19 - quiet rainy day at Cleeve Hill

With a rariny day predicted we decided to wait for our best window of opportunity in the early afternoon before attempting a local walk on the hills behind our holiday home.

Trevor and I took the opportunity to shop one last time for supplies for our last supper together tonight and returned to our lodgings via the recommended route according to our GPS.  This turned out to be a lane called Gambles Lane which was truly a bit of a gamble. Quite narrow in places, and with blind corners in some of the one car wide areas it was a taste of adventure for us which we survived to face another day and another drive on UK roads.

Trucks come down this lane regularly and it seems to be par for the course... crazy crazy country.
The lane was built this thin initially so why widen it now???

pretty flowers growing along the edge of the lane

We have seen lots of these simple wild roses on our travels in this area.

the house at the end of the lane

It is even a gamble whether you can see the sign or not.
Our walk in the afternoon got rained out - we started out, but turned back after getting soaked and it not looking like stopping. The views were still grand.
