9/5/19 Streaky Bay to Port Pirie

488km today

After listening to  a wild night of weather while huddled cosily in our motel room , we had our breakfast (included) and made tracks towards home again.

Our goal was to get to Port Pirie today and catch up with the Dick family.  We don't need to be home till tomorrow.

We neglected to fill the thermos and probably would not have stopped anyway as it was pouring with rain most of the way and having made our way past the many vans on the road we were reluctant to have to overtake them again.

An early lunch stop at Kimba roadhouse was a great choice.  As we walked into the warm room we were greeted with the wafted aroma of curries and immediately decided to have that for lunch.  YUM.  (along with a cuppa to keep us going)

We picked up a paper and the local IGA and so were fully equipped for our journey onwards.

We storm-chased our way to Pirie, while happily completing the cryptic crossword and, having passed Peter on his bus run, arrived out the front of the Dick house just as Belinda was doing the school pick up.  This gave us lots of time to catch up on news before Peter arrived home and to then catch up on the progress of the trailer (due to head for Adelaide tomorrow for canvas to be fixed to it).

Trevor and Peter had a late night catching up and drawing up canvas designs.  Trev slept in James' spare bed and I slept in Isabelle's spare bed.
