8/5/19 Near Madura to Streaky Bay

683 km today

We were on our way at 7.47 (accurate for current time zone), reluctantly crawling out of our cosy swags this morning.  We rolled them up not realising that this would be the last use for quite a while.

We stopped for Fuel at Eucla and changed the clock by another 3/4 hour.

Our morning tea stop was lookout number 2 at the Bunda Cliffs - where you can walk to a lookout and look down on the water crashing into cliffs along the coast. The overnight campers there were parked one behind the other and still getting going with the van users all chatting together.

Lunch was at one of the roadside stops just before Yalata.  Having left Ross and Jan far behind and with no way of contacting them, we opted to pull in and make ourselves as obvious as we could so they would pick us on the way past.  Sure enough they did.  In the meantime we got talking to a couple from Goolwa who are caravanning to WA and beyond with no set date for return.

Jan has heard that we are heading into some sizeable storms, so we agreed to meet up again in Ceduna after fueling up and consider options.
Fuel at the self serve pump in Ceduna was again cheap ($1.43/litre) so we once again filled up here.

Having confirmed the coming storm we agreed to head for Streaky Bay and booked in at the Hotel/Motel after getting told both caravan parks were full. A call to Paul Evans confirmed that there would be someone at their place to visit.
Just over an hour later we  were driving through rain down the Streaky Bay main street and checking in. We enjoyed hot showers (ours flooded the bathroom due to poor drainage) before taking our food to the Evans' to cook and catching up with Paul. Dani and Chloe arrived a bit later after netball practice.

We enjoyed our comfy bed at the motel which was much appreciated while the weather raged outside.
