Amalfi Walking - Day 4 Minori to Ravello

With the weather still looking OK this morning we headed off to Amalfi by private bus and then on to Minori (a little further along the coast) , where we took in the local seaside sights - a damaged jetty (from the latest storms) , an all weather football field on the seafront, a fountain with lovely clear water and fish, and the best cake shop in the world.

happy with this delicious icecream.
After enjoying sumptuous desserts we walked up (6.3km, 450m of climb) through the town beside a waterway, (looking way up the mountain to the spot that we were headed) and then beside a gurgling creek. More steps to climb, more amazing views to see.

Some buildings appeared to be ruins. (open window areas, doors hanging off).  There were a lot of cats and livestock and it was much quieter than Amalfi with less tourists.

We had a first hand experience of the livestock which live their lives indoors up on the hillsides, and found some interesting vegetation as we slowly made our way about 400 metres upwards to Ravello.
Ravello is a very old and artistic town, and very proud these days of their cultural festival.  They brag of many artistic people who created masterpieces (written, dramatic and musical) living there and being inspired by the beautiful surroundings.  You look out to the Mediterranean from high above and down on to the little town of Minori.

After finding ourselves a little cafĂ© to eat pasta lunch and drink red wine in, we wandered around being amazed at ancient architecture and incredible views.  We even did a tiny bit of tourist shopping.
