Trev in action today |
Frustrating wait to punch the finish |
There were some imaginary barriers as well as the real ones, and some complexity of buildings, but generally there was little variation in heights, which limited the difficulty of the map. Some of the runners were using SI air for the first time, which did look like it was easier. You don't have to insert your SI stick in the unit, just pass near to it. This means you don't have to stop at the control

Trev and I both finished in lower mid field, which was a bit disappointing. My result was coloured by a stupid mistake, where I checked a control number and thought wrongly 3 times that I must be at the wrong control, when actually I was continuously misreading the number (looking at the one below).
Other SA runners did OK, with Paul Hoopman winning his age class.
Some of the kids did pretty well too, which was great to see.
We met Manu (the new SA Orienteering scholar) who was wearing Arrows colours already.
